2016 Chevy Malibu Huntsville AL
Prepare to have everything you’ve ever assumed about the midsize sedan segment roundly challenged. That is because the Malibu, Chevy’s iconic passenger car, has received a total redesign for the new model year, and the results are earth-shaking. More than just a shifting of equipment or just a mild rejiggering of technical specs, the 2016 Chevy Malibu near Huntsville AL went back to the drawing board, emerging with a host of new powertrains, a restyled exterior, and even a hybrid model to be offered later in the year. Top to bottom, front to back, the 2016 Chevy Malibu changes the game for Alabama midsize sedan drivers.
It all begins under the hood for the latest Malibu, where Chevy has rolled out two terrific powertrains in its gas-powered configuration. The standard offering is now a turbocharged 1.5L EcoTec four-cylinder design that offers up to 37 mpg on the highway. The Malibu’s new frame also trims about 300 lbs from its previous weight, meaning that even though the new standard powertrain has a slightly smaller displacement than the outgoing powertrain, it doesn’t lack for power. Pair this with the larger, turbocharged 2.0L EcoTec four-cylinder, which is estimated to return 250 hp and 32 highway mpg, and it becomes clear that the Malibu has something for everyone.
Despite its clear attention to power and style, the Malibu doesn’t skimp on safety features either. The latest edition rolls out nine new safety features, most notably the customizable Teen Driver setting that allows parents to set parameters for their younger operators. Additionally, with the new Front Pedestrian Alert and a Rear View Camera, the Malibu makes visibility and maneuvering a priority.
