What’s New on the 2016 Ford F-150?

It was just last year at this time that we were eagerly awaiting the release of the 2015 Ford F-150. Today, we’ve received updates about the next evolution of Ford’s flagship pickup, coming soon to Harbin Automotive. Here’s what we know so far about what’s new on the 2016 Ford F-150, all of which are well in keeping with the direction the model had taken heading into 2015. Let’s look at the upcoming changes, shall we?

Pro Trailer Backup Assist — As you well know, reversing your truck with a trailer can be difficult. However, with the 2016 Ford F-150’s new Pro Trailer Backup Assist, drivers can simply turn a knob to point in the direction they need to go, and then the truck will use segment-first technology to control direction and limit truck speed. Ford’s new advanced camera technology makes it all possible.

2016 Ford F-150 Huntsville ALNew Special Edition Packages — Adding additional attitude to the existing lineup of F-150 models, the new Special Edition packages cranks up the attitude even further. Available on the XLT and Lariat packages (and shown in the photos here), the Special Edition package lends all-new 20-inch anodized painted-aluminum wheels with red lettering, black running boards, smoked headlamps, a new instrument panel, red interior stitching, unique side decals, and a new mesh grille with red accents.

SYNC 3 — Ford will be replacing the outgoing SYNC with MyFord Touch with the all-new SYNC 3, the brand’s newest communications and entertainment system. This features enhanced voice recognition, high-speed performance and capacitative touchscreen, and an easier-to-understand graphical interface. This promises to be head-and-shoulders above the outgoing system.

New Fuel Packages Available — 2016 Ford F-150s equipped with the 5.0-liter V8 variant will now be able to choose from a Compressed Natural Gas or Propane option, allowing users to reduce cost and emissions simultaneously. This will make it the first and only light-duty pickup able to run on CNG or propane.

We’ll keep you posted for more updates regarding the 2016 Ford F-150 as they come available, and we look forward to seeing you soon at Harbin Automotive!
