Tips for Buying a Used Car
Here’s a fact that might surprise you: at Harbin Auto, we never have fewer than 100 used vehicles on our lot. This means that, even though we’re well-known in these parts for our sterling selection of new Chevy, Ford and Lincoln models, there are scores of value-priced models from many automakers, and all of them have been tested to ensure that they’ve still got many miles ahead of them. But what should you know before you buy a used car? Here are a few tips for buying a used car, from your old pals here at Harbin Auto!
Know How Much You Can Afford. Most of us live on some sort of budget, and no new-to-you car search should be begun before you get an idea what you can realistically pay. Perhaps more importantly, you should know how much car you realistically need. We can’t tell you how many people come in looking for a family SUV and are drawn like a magnet to our Camaros and Mustangs. So know what you need, basically.
Do Your Homework. It’s never been a better time to be a used car buyer, simply because there is so much available information out there. Sites like edmunds.com are extremely helpful, while there are multitudes of online forums where you can find out virtually anything you could ever think to ask about your prospective vehicle, and the feedback is always honest.
Don’t be Too Impulsive. This may sound like odd advice from an auto dealer, but it’s true; we’d much rather that you are happy with your purchase than that you drive off the lot with immediate buyer’s remorse. Fortunately for buyers in our area, we aren’t real big on high-pressure sales. Instead, we try to be as informative as possible and as thorough as we can be, so when you leave, it’s with full peace of mind.
We understand that purchasing a used car can be a stressful experience, so we try to eliminate that stress any way we can. We encourage you to visit our dealership for a full rundown of our financing options and inventory availability. See you soon at Harbin Automotive!
