Jay Leno Drives 2015 Corvette Stingray Z06, Gets Pulled Over

Jay Leno’s Garage 2015 Chevy Corvette Stingray ZO6

If you’ve followed Jay Leno’s career over the past four-plus decades, you know that he’s never made any secret of his love for classic sports cars. He collects vehicles himself, and in recent years he’s made a cottage industry of testing out models of cars that most of us will never drive. On his latest episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, however, he takes the 2015 Chevy Corvette Stingray Z06 into the Hollywood Hills…and gets pulled over in the process.

Of course, when you’re operating 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque by way of an eight-speed automatic transmission mated to a 6.2-liter supercharged V8, you would be forgiven for getting a little bit itchy with the pedal. It’s worth noting that, since this is the automatic, Leno isn’t shifting for himself, and he makes it pretty clear that he might prefer to be doing his own gearwork.

As has been reported with some regularity since the news of the new Z06 was announced, the latest edition of Corvette’s epic super-trim will be available with a seven-speed manual transmission in the coupe edition. And, even though the 2015 Chevy Corvette Stingray Z06 is quiet when blending into traffic, when Leno takes a dip on the pedal, it’s pretty clear that the boss is back in town.
