Features in the Ford Co-Pilot360 Safety Suite

When the 2019 Ford Edge and 2019 Ford Fusion begin arriving in showrooms across the United States they will come standard with a host of new safety advantages thanks to Ford Co-Pilot360. While most of the features in the Ford Co-Pilot360 safety suite have been available before on new Ford vehicles this selection of features will begin coming on most of the Ford lineup, and should be standard in passenger vehicles in North America (including cars, crossovers, and even the Ford F-150) by 2020. Explore some of these attractive features below.

Emergency Braking

The Ford Co-Pilot360 system will come with Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection. This system helps drivers watch for obstacles, and will visually and audibly warn drivers if it detects a vehicle or a pedestrian that may be at risk of impact. If the system doesn’t detect the driver taking action, it can also automatically apply the brakes to minimize an accident.

Blind Spot Information System

The Ford blind spot monitoring system, BLIS, has been available for years on many models, but starting with the introduction of Co-Pilot360 this system will be standard. BLIS watches a vehicle’s blind spot with radar and warns drivers with a light when there is a vehicle that would interfere with a lane change. This feature is also bundle with rear cross traffic alerts for when drivers are backing up with limited visibility.

Lane Keeping System

The Lane Keeping System on Ford Co-Pilot360 includes three advantages. It will warn drivers through steering wheel vibrations if it looks like they are leaving their lane, and then help them get back to the center of the lane with extra steering torque. The third function tracks driving patterns, and will warn drivers if it look like they are not paying attention and driving irregularly.

Auto High Beam & Reverse Camera

Automatic high beams and a rearview camera are the last two features that are currently planned to be standard with Ford Co-Pilot360. These can increase forward and rear visibility and take some of the small hassles out of driving.[/bscolumns][bscolumns class=”clear”][/bscolumns]
