In such a sad and hopeless world, isn’t it nice to get some good news every now and again? We at Harbin Automotive sure think so. We recently received an update on the famed Corvette Museum Sinkhole in Bowling Green, KY, which you might remember gobbling up eight iconic Corvette models. In the year and a half since, many of the models had been restored, but one of the most damaged ‘Vettes had been curiously absent about the whole thing. Well, it’s silent no more; the picture above shows the restored millionth Corvette, a 1992 LT1 Convertible. So, let’s look close at the process that returns it to the museum. One Year Later, the Corvette Museum Sinkhole is Filled

Corvette Museum Sinkhole Filled

You might remember hearing that last February, a sinkhole opened up beneath Kentucky’s National Corvette Museum, swallowing eight classic Corvettes and crumpling them like they were toys. (Some internet trolls actually thought that the footage was faked. Go ahead, look it up.) But now, roughly a year after the tragic happening, we’re happy to report that the Corvette Museum sinkhole has been filled, and that Chevrolet has some big announcements to coincide with museum Skydome’s reopening. As a leading seller of used Chevrolet in the Scottsboro and Huntsville area, we understand the emotional attachment that comes with the ownership of certain vehicles, and this stroke of misfortune struck a Detroit man named George Talley in 1981, when he emerged from an appointment to find his 1979 Corvette missing. Chevy in Transformers: Age of Extinction

If you spend any time at the movies this coming weekend–or plan on going at all this summer, for that matter–you’ll more than likely consider seeing the new Transformers: Age of Extinction film, the fourth version in the toy-inspired franchise. After all, the latest Transformers film has already brought in roughly $100 million in box office receipts, making it the largest opening weekend for movie so far this year. (It is also the largest foreign opener ever in China, with $93 million total.)

Of course, this has special meaning for us at Harbin Automotive, as this represents a continuation of the relationship between Chevy and the Transformers franchise. Read the rest of this entry >>

2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray earns North American Car of the Year honors

2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray

Chevy is leaving this year’s Detroit Auto Show feeling pretty good about the way things went in the 2014 model year. While we have long understood the excellence of Chevy’s redesigned sports car, it’s now been confirmed by a panel of automotive experts as the new Chevy Corvette Stingray was named 2014 North American Car of the Year.

This isn’t the first award the Corvette Stingray has one from reputable sources, however, as the iconic sports car has earned Car of the Year honors from Automobile Magazine and Road & Track’s Performance Car of the Year accolades. Earning the title of North American Car of the Year may be the most prestigious award in the Corvette Stingray’s trophy case, though. With perhaps the most dramatic redesign in the history of Corvette, Chevrolet took a few chances with the Corvette’s design and they have paid dividends. Read the rest of this entry >>
