Three factory engine options greet drivers of the 2015 Ford Mustang.

2015 Ford Mustang Power Numbers

As we at Harbin Auto eagerly await the release of the 2015 Ford Mustang, most of the early details have been of the vague, “ooh-and-ahh” variety. We’ve seen just how awe-inspiringly beautiful the vehicle is, sure, but most of the details we’ve been given have been frustratingly broad. A customer asks, “What can you tell us about the ‘15 Mustang?” And we have to say, “Well, we know about as much as you do. It’s really sweet-looking. That’s about it.”

Until now. We’ve now received the power numbers for the 2015 Ford Mustang, and our level of excitement is suitably high.

The 2.3L Turbo EcoBoost signals the Mustang’s return to a turbocharged engine following an almost twenty year absence.

As we stated above, Ford was justifiably coy about announcing the specific power numbers for 50th anniversary edition of the iconic pony car. Now that we’ve seen the numbers, however, we can understand what all the smoke-and-mirrors was about. The 2015 Ford Mustang will feature three diverse powertrains in its factory models, each of which gives drivers a considerable amount to look forward to.

First off the line is the standard 3.7L V6, a naturally aspirated model that features a horsepower rating of 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. If you’re like us at Harbin Auto, you’re probably thinking something along these lines: “This is the standard engine? 300 horsepower in a standard engine? Where do we go from here?”

Where we go next, our friends, is to a 2.3L Turbo EcoBoost four-cylinder option. This is exciting for two reasons. First, its power numbers reveal ratings of 310 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque, amazing figures for a four-cylinder. And second, this option delivers the first turbocharged Mustang in nearly twenty years, since the 1986 Mustang SVO.

Topping the line is the Mustang GT, which offers drivers a naturally aspirated 5.0L V8 option that weakens knees with a thrilling 435 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. This long-awaited news announces an improvement over the gaudy numbers that were initially predicted, proving again that the upcoming release of the 2015 Ford Mustang is a date we should all be circling on our calendars.

The 2015 Ford Mustang will be coming soon to Harbin Automotive in Scottsboro, AL, and we are justifiably excited. To learn more about this upcoming release or to pose any questions regarding its availability, visit our dealership today!
