2015 Chevy Sonic Preview
Heading into the new year, we at Harbin Automotive are welcoming new models seemingly every week. We’re now only a few weeks away from the release of the 2015 Chevy Sonic as well, a compact model that has quickly become a favorite among students, young families and commuters. So, is it right for you? Here’s your first sneak peak at the 2015 Chevy Sonic.
Sedan and Hatchback body styles. Perhaps no other tidbit speaks to the incredible level of personalization in the 2015 Chevy Sonic than this: buyers can choose from two incredible body styles. With the sedan, buyers are welcomed with a spacious interior cabin that offers a generous 14.9 cubic feet of trunk space. Choosing the hatchback, meanwhile, rewards drivers with an enormous 47.7 cubic feet of interior volume.
Two compelling powertrain options. Also meeting the demand for buyer versatility are the Sonic’s powertrains, each of which is well-regarded by drivers and reviewers alike. Now standard in the 2015 Chevy Sonic is an ECOTEC 1.8L four-cylinder engine offering 138 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque, while those who want a higher degree of performance may opt for the available turbocharged 1.4L four-cylinder. With this powertrain, drivers receive a zero-to-sixty time of under eight seconds along with a 40-mpg rating on the highway.
Safety first in the Sonic. The compact class isn’t an area where drivers regularly expect to find great safety ratings; it’s sad, but it’s true. However, this is an area where the Sonic excels. It has received the top safety rating in its class, a perfect 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. And, with its terrific suite of standard safety features, including 10 airbags and traction/stability control, customer confidence is high as well.
Breathtaking technology. The 2015 lineup of Chevrolet vehicles has received high marks for its next-generation technology, and this is true of the 2015 Chevy Sonic as well. It receives an available 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, which allows up to seven wireless devices to connect at once. And, with the updated Chevy MyLink interface offering a 7-inch diagonal color touch-screen to operate all systems, accessing social media or streaming music is easier than ever before too.
